UPDATED:

I am generally in sympathy with the objectives of the occupiers of the cities and institutions around the country (i.e., they wish to end the numerous inequities and injustices in our nation).

However, I doubt that continuing the occupations will enable them to achieve their goals. Accordingly, I believe that they should take actions that are likely to be more effective. For one, they should initiate recall programs against all politicians at the local, state and national levels who are obstructing the progressive changes that so many of us wish to see being established. These changes include much more generous financial and other support for public education at all levels, financial aid to those who have lost or are about to lose their homes and other such social improvements.
