UPDATED:

I am frustrated by the fringe elements of our political system not saying, specifically, what they “want” and not acknowledging the effects of their desires.

Tea Party advocates at least say generally, they are against revenue increases and against spending, but when it comes to also wanting to reduce operating deficits, reality goes up in smoke. Occupiers seem reluctant to vocalize their desires even generally and seem to feel that protest can be kept separate from politics and costs.

Occupiers have made one positive move by championing the move of some funds from major banks to savings and loans and credit unions.

Not much in terms of total deposits, but I suspect it got the banks” attention. Why they don”t push the Dodd-Frank act and reinstatement of the Glass-Steagal act baffles me. And they seem to ignore the basic issue of increasing revenue.

The far right also is reluctant to explain to the people why they want to reduce spending, but in so doing they fail to explain why spending for defense is more important than education and infrastructure. I would guess that their failure to even face the issues of fairness in taxation and increasing employment is going to hurt. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they have yet to explain why they feel their way is the only way to increase believership. So far they have not. Judging from recent polls, it seems to me that a great many potential voters, would like to understand why causing further unemployment by reducing spending is preferable to creating jobs through what some think are “socialistic”, means and lessening unemployment and welfare expenses. The far right seems to give the impression that they are very much pro wealthy and have no empathy for the “workers”, middle class or lower. If this true, tell us about it and explain why it is the best course for the country. On the other side, the OWS people need to explain how their methods will affect the country. If they feel that they are influencing potential voters (and causing expenses the country doesn”t need) fine, but explain why. The way business and banking is set up, they surely are not going to shake up wall street by their present operations! Electing “their” people, though, might just do it, but that makes appealing to the voters mandatory!
