CLEARLAKE OAKS — Major injuries were sustained by one in a three vehicle collision on Nov. 23 east of Clearlake Oaks. James Wofford, 54, of Upper Lake, suffered a broken right arm and shoulder in the collision.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Clear Lake area, Wofford was traveling westbound on Highway 20 west of Catholic Church Road around 6:52 p.m. in a 1986 Ford Thunderbird. CHP said that Wofford said he was having mechanical difficulty with his vehicle prior to his crossing the double yellow lines into the eastbound lane.
Wofford”s vehicle sideswiped a 1998 Chevy Tahoe driven by Tiffany Flores, 27, of Arcata when it entered the eastbound lane. The vehicle then continued on striking a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Cheryl Barnes, 33, of Clearlake Oaks, head-on.
