LOWER LAKE — Lake County Theater Company (LCTC)”s performance of “A Christmas Carol in The Museum,” an adaptation of Charles Dickens” “A Christmas Carol,” opens this weekend in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum in Lower Lake.

In the spirit of giving, LCTC will donate all canned and non-perishable foods, toys, and cash donations received from participating audience members to Lake County”s Christmas Basket Program.

Audience members are invited to enjoy this classic Christmas story; to go back in time to the 1800s in London, enjoy the decorations and come in costume if they wish.

All the “usual suspects” will appear from Tiny Tim to the hateful, multifaceted, slightly schizophrenic and worst Scrooge imaginable.

Dickens made the journey to America multiple times to give lectures on the plight of the underprivileged and poor people of the world. Organizers encourage attendees to treat the family to an early Christmas present and join the festivities.

Performances take place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and 2 p.m. Dec. 11.

Cost of tickets is $15 for reserved seating and $12 for general admission with a $2 discount for students, seniors and LCTC members. Tickets are being sold at Watershed Books, 305 N. Main St. in Lakeport, 263-5787; and at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum in Lower Lake, 995-3565. For more information call 279-2595.
