LAKEPORT — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to two crashes that resulted in arrests for driving under the influence Tuesday night along Hill Road.

According to Officer Kory Reynolds, John Robert Gray, 46, of Clear Lake Riviera was driving a Ford pickup at a high rate of speed on Hill Road around 9:20 p.m.

The pickup failed to negotiate a right curve and struck an embankment, Reynolds said.

Gray was arrested for DUI, according to Reynolds. The CHP released Gray to the hospital, where he is being treated for multiple facial fractures, which could require oral surgery, Reynolds said.

Almost two hours later, the CHP responded to assist the Lake County Sheriff”s Office in a high-speed pursuit that began on Lakeport streets and continued on Highway 29 at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

The driver took the Park Way exit and ran the stop sign, Reynolds said. The suspect vehicle then jumped over an asphalt curb, went down an embankment and crashed into a fence along Hill Road around 11:15 p.m.

Jason Christopher Agustinovich, 36, of Lakeport was arrested on felony charges of taking a vehicle without the owner”s consent, evading a peace officer and recovering stolen property.

He also faces misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving on a suspended license.
