I learned another curious tidbit in 10th grade world history.

The only member of Congress to vote against the declaration of war after Pearl Harbor was Jeanette Rankin from Montana, who also has the distinction of being the first woman ever elected to Congress.

Ms. Rankin”s beliefs had stayed with her as she was the only legislator to vote against both WWI and WWII.
