LAKEPORT — The Lake County JAKKS baseball team is hosting a baseball camp on Sunday at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a barbecue is included in the cost of the camp.
Former pro players and scouts are operating the camp. Among those in attendance will be Matt Ceriani from Ole Miss and a current scout in the Southeastern Conference, major league and college scout Jay Pecci of Stanford, and recruiter Joey Gomes, formerly of Tampa Bay and the brother of big league ballplayer Jonny Gomes of the Reds.
There also will be a parent/coaching clinic held at Round Table Pizza in Lakeport on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. when the former pros and current scouts will answer all your questions.
The cost to attend the camp is $100. This is an excellent chance to be evaluated by scouts and see if you”ve got what it takes to move to the next level. The sign-up deadline is Friday. Spots are limited.
