LAKEPORT — Graffiti has plagued the city all week and the police are turning to residents for information about the incidents.
Unidentified people reportedly drew graffiti on five blocks throughout the city on Saturday and Sunday, and another two blocks on Monday and Tuesday.
The incidents occurred on the 1000 block of North Main Street, 100 and 600 blocks of Forbes Street, 400 block of Konocti Avenue, 300 block of Lakeport Boulevard, and 300 and 1100 blocks of South Main Street, according to the Lakeport Police Department (LPD).
Authorities believe the graffiti could be gang related.
The vandals appear to be using a large marking pen or similar tool, the LPD said.
The incidents reportedly occurred at night and featured comparable styles and designs.
The LPD encouraged residents to report suspicious activity by calling 263-5491. Authorities advised people to call 9-1-1 if they witness a crime actually in progress.
