LAKEPORT — Authorities arrested two women Saturday morning for allegedly burglarizing a home on Ruby Drive.

The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) and the Lake County Sheriff”s Office responded to the 100 block of the city street around 7:20 a.m. Saturday to investigate a reported burglary in progress, Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said.

Two women, Brandy Marie Boyle of Kelseyville and Cynthia Lynn Downing of Lucerne, were reportedly standing outside the house near a pickup parked in the driveway.

Officers determined the home had been ransacked and at least 12 household items were removed and placed in the bed of the pickup, Rasmussen said.

Boyle and Downing were arrested and transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility. Rasmussen said both women had previous arrests for alleged theft and controlled-substance offenses.

The LPD is continuing to investigate the incident and think a third person could have been involved. People with information can call 263-5491.
