LAKEPORT — Tired of watching the game from the stands? If you want to learn how to officiate youth basketball, love working with children, want to serve your community and believe sportsmanship and fair play are important, then you are exactly what the Westshore Youth Basketball League is looking for.
Individuals who want to officiate youth basketball games should attend a clinic Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. Love to Referee, a company dedicated to raising the standards in youth sports, is conducting the clinic, the cost of which is $20 plus an additional $10 for a referee handbook. You will receive on-court and classroom instruction.
