ANDERSON MARSH STATE PARK — Three men were detained by a State Park Ranger, a Lake County sheriff”s deputy and Clearlake Police officers for hunting duck on the Anderson Marsh State Park grounds.

According to Sgt. Dennis Ostini with the sheriff”s Marine Patrol Unit, the men were armed and hunting duck at the mouth of Cache Creek on state park grounds. A park ranger and sheriff”s deputy investigating could not get to the men.

The ranger and deputy contacted boat patrol to help tow the men to Redbud Park in Clearlake and requested assistance from Clearlake Police. Ostini said the men were not arrested. He said the ranger conducted an investigation into why the men were hunting on state park grounds and are considering filing a criminal complaint with the District Attorney”s Office to find out if the men committed any violations of law.
