LAYTONVILLE — Damian Lopez and Adrian Adams scored 10 points apiece on Saturday as the Clear Lake Cardinals improved to 12-1 on the season with a 58-50 victory over Laytonville in non-league junior varsity boys” basketball action at Laytonville.
Clear Lake carried a 46-26 lead into the fourth quarter and Cardinal reserves played nearly the entire final period. Laytonville closed the gap by hitting six 3-pointers in the quarter.
“Lopez and (Ootie) Lane played really good for me,” Clear Lake coach Jeremy Hopkins said.
Rounding out a balanced Clear Lake scoring attack were Charlie Marquez with eight points, Brandon Helms with seven and Lane and David Mansell with six apiece.
The Cardinals resume their North Central League I schedule tonight at home against Willits at 5:30 p.m. Clear Lake is 2-0 in league play.
