LAKEPORT — Singer, songwriter, political satirist, and comedian Roy Zimmerman will appear one night only in a special benefit for radio station KPFZ 88.1 FM on Saturday at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre in Lakeport. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Zimmerman has been compared to Bob Dylan, Tom Lehrer, Phil Ochs, and Woody Guthrie. He has shared the stage with Holly Near, George Carlin, Bill Maher, Kate Clinton, Dennis Miller, Sandra Tsing Loh, kd lang, Andy Borowitz and Paul Krassner among others.
Opening for Zimmerman is local singer and songwriter Vic Star.
Cost of tickets is $20 per person. Tickets are available at the Soper-Reese box office, Watershed Books and at the KPFZ studios, located at 149 Main St. in Lakeport. Tickets are also available by calling 350-1150.
