CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Police Department (CPD) is seeking suspects in connection with the burglaries of several units at B&K Storage and the Clearlake Public Works yard.
CPD Sgt. Snyder said evidence recovered from the scene indicates that the crime was committed by several suspects.
CPD officers responded to the storage area on Old Highway 53 at about 10:52 p.m. following a report of an audible alarm at the storage facility. Officers arrived on scene and discovered entry was made into several small storage lockers on the property. Officers also noticed an open door at the City of Clearlake Public Works yard, which is located adjacent to the storage facility.
Officers conducted a search of the Public Works yard and located numerous vehicles and buildings ransacked with items removed. During the investigation it was discovered that bodily force and prying tools were allegedly used to gain access to the numerous storage sheds and Public Works yard. It is believed that the suspect(s) fled the scene when the alarm was activated, leaving behind numerous items of stolen property.
Approximately 15 storage units were burglarized and it is still unknown what items were stolen. However several items of stolen property were recovered from behind the storage facility.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact CPD Officer Ray at 994-8251.
