Nazelah J Jeffries is a performance poet, actress and vocalist based in Oakland. According to Gonzaga, Jeffries is widely regarded as one of the early visionaries of the Bay Area poetry slam scene. Jeffries has been hosting, organizing, coaching and fostering the talents of the Oakland Poetry Slam team for seven years.
She is joined by her husband, the “smooth gentleman,” Dahled Jeffries. Dahled Jeffries is a Philadelphia born-and-raised writer and performer who has embraced and elevated the Oakland poetry scene. His work has been published in several poetry anthologies and he has been featured at venues from coast to coast including New York”s Nuyorican Poet”s Cafe and Da Poetry Lounge in Los Angeles.
