LAKEPORT — The Lake County Theater Company (LCTC) will perform Neil Simon”s “The Odd Couple ? Female Version” in February and March at the Super-Reese Community Theatre in Lakeport.
The main characters of Felix and Oscar have been changed to Olive and Florence. Rehearsals are in full swing.
This version of the play is more modern, a little racier and in many ways funnier, according to director Linda Guebert. The dynamics are the same; a sloppy person and a fastidious one living together in an apartment that could use a major cleanup. Their female friends come over to play “Trivial Pursuit” instead of poker with drop-in visits from the Spanish brothers who live in an upstairs apartment.
According to publicist Marg Brooks, watching the antics of these characters as the story progresses is a belly-laughing experience that is not to be missed.
Performances take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 24, 2 and 7 p.m. Feb. 26, 7 p.m. March 2 and 3 and 2 p.m. March 4.
