Regarding Citizen”s United v. Federal Election Commission, thank you to Lake County Publishing, for raising readers” consciousness about corporations as people through printing both “Money shapes vicious election” and Kate Schmidt-Hopper”s response.

I am involved with the local Move to Amend (the U.S. Constitution) movement. Since the Supreme Court says corporations are persons, it seems that corporations and persons are similar in that both have survival needs, but that is where the similarity ends.

Bottom line, corporations” legitimate survival need is to make a profit for its share holders. Conversely, human persons” legitimate survival needs are to breathe fresh air, drink clear water, eat nourishing food, touch and be touched, flex muscles, create joy and beauty, express our love for one another, plus a host of others.

I am involved with the local Move to Amend (the U.S. Constitution) movement and will be joining perhaps thousands of others today and Saturday in Sacramento to say, “Amend the U.S. Constitution,” in an attempt to level the playing field.

Corporations are not people and have no right to sway elections. To carpool to events, call me at 995-0940.
