While driving through the Avenue of the Flags early in the morning on Veteran”s Day in Rogue River, Ore., I heard the voices.
The voices were crying the most pitiful and haunting cry I have ever heard.
I realized the voices were coming from the flags, for behind every star on every American flag resides the spirit, soul and courage of those hundreds of thousands of brave men and women who gave their lives so their country would remain free for all of us who were to follow.
The voices were saying with their pitiful cry, “You have betrayed us. You with the power, you who are motivated by power and wealth for only yourself.”
What has happened to the words “all men are created equal?” What about “all for one and one for all,” or “am I my brothers keeper?” You have forgotten that you were elected by we the people to serve us, the people, not your own political agenda. Jesus said, “every kingdom divided against itself will not stand.” The bricks of justice and law in Washington are crumbling and the voices from the flags grow louder.
The voices are rising all across America, from Oakland to the halls of Wall Street in New York.
Washington must listen or divided as Rome, we shall fall.
If you agree with me, cut this out of the paper and add your own thoughts. Have friends and family add their names and mail it to your representatives, flooding Washington with our message so that the voices of the flags will be silenced and those spirits under the stars may rest in peace once again. May God bless this country and all of us who reside within.
