UPPER LAKE — A hit-and-run driver reportedly caused a broken power pole, downed lines and a three-hour outage late Wednesday night.
The California Highway Patrol responded to Elk Mountain Road in the area of Pitney Lane and Rancheria Road in Upper Lake just before 10 p.m., according to Officer Kory Reynolds.
Firefighters and PG&E crews also arrived on scene, he said.
First responders found the broken pole and live power lines in the roadway but no sign of the responsible vehicle or its driver, Reynolds said.
The incident caused one customer to lose power between 9 p.m. and midnight, PG&E spokeswoman Brandi Ehlers said. Utility crews replaced the pole Thursday morning, she added.
