WILLITS — The Kelseyville Knights suited up only six players and finished with only four Thursday night in a 74-44 North Central League I loss to the high-powered Willits Wolverines in girls” basketball action at Willits.

With Jeannie Johnson sitting things out with an injury and Mandy Spitzer out sick, the Knights (0-8 league, 2-14 overall) were at a huge disadvantage from the start against the league-leading Wolverins, now 8-0 in the NCL I standings. Two Kelseyville players fouled out during the game, leaving coach Christina Taylor with only four players.

Three players accounted for all of the Knights” scoring, led by Mary Brown”s season-high 26 points, including two 3-pointers. Kyra Rudnick added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and Dakota Rixen had five points.

Willits put the game away with a 31-5 first quarter. Kelseyville closed the gap a bit with a 19-12 second quarter.

The Knights, who have lost 12 straight, return home Tuesday to face St. Helena. JV action tips off at 5:30 p.m.
