LAKEPORT — A casting call open to the public for the third annual Celebrity Lip Sync is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre in Lakeport.
While a list of songs from Broadway and movie musicals has been compiled, the Lip Sync Committee is open to suggestions. People who have a song they would like to perform are asked to come to the casting call and talk with members of the committee.
The Lake County Chamber committee is prepared to assist with ideas and assistance on choreography, costuming, hair and makeup.
“Syncing With The Stars,” the third annual Celebrity Lip Sync, will be presented at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. April 14 and 2 p.m. April 15 at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre.
Each year, there are more than 70 to 80 members of the general public involved in this event.
John Tomlinson of Vintage Productions and Diana Schmidt, who is appearing shortly in a female version of “The Odd Couple,” have signed up as co-directors for this year”s production. Sarah Dutra will be lead choreographer for the third year. Lyle Coburn and Janice Hornby are volunteering to do makeup for the actors.
The committee still has openings for choreographers, hair and makeup people, backstage staff and actor”s tent volunteers, according to Chamber Event Chair Jeanette Bartley.
