WILLITS — Middletown High School wrestler Landon Bracisco won two matches in overtime, the final one in the 152-pound finals, on Saturday during the Willits Junior Varsity Tournament in Willits.
“Some good wrestling from him,” Middletown coach Brian Hunt said. “Landon did a great job.”
Bracisco beat team-mate Matt Stout in overtime early on in the 152-pound bracket. Stout went on to finish fourth.
Also for Middletown, Sierra Egger, one of two girls entered in the 108-pound division, ended up with a second-place medal. The other girl in the division, Middletown”s Maria Castaldo, finished fourth.
Middletown added a third-place medal at 160 pounds won by Hunter Duncan.
Three other Middletown girls — Karen Castellanos (115), Kaylee Arviso (134) and BriAnne Nelson (122) also turned in strong showings, according to Hunt.
Castellanos and Arviso beat the girls in their weight classes while Nelson participated in the most exciting match of the tournament, losing in triple overtime to a Willits opponent.
