KELSEYVILLE –Victor Fernandez carried the scoring load in the first half before passing the baton to teammate Dustin Martin in the second half Friday as the Kelseyville Knights beat Willits 61-49 in North Central League I junior varsity boys” basketball action at Kelseyville.
Fernandez scored 15 of his team-leading 21 points in the first two quarters as the Knights (5-3 league, 9-8 overall) established a 30-23 halftime lead. Martin added 11 of his 18 points in the second half.
Four players accounted for all but two of the Knights” points. Besides Fernandez and Martin, Cesar Medina finished with 11 points and Victor Perez just missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Middletown 44, Lower Lake 38 (OT)
At Middletown, the Middletown Mustangs outscored the Lower Lake Trojans 9-3 in overtime to pull out the win and stay hot of Clear Lake”s heels in the NCL I race.
Middletown improved to 7-1 in league play and trails only Clear Lake (8-0) in the standings.
“We made our inside shots in overtime,” Middletown coach Jon Hoogendoorn said.
Middletown had a 12-4 lead after the first quarter but had to rally to tie the game late in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Cody Chorjel led a balanced Middletown attack with 11 points, joining teammates Wyatt Hall and Brandon Rannells, both with 10 points, in double digits. Anthony Guzman added nine points.
Ian Stiles” 17 points led the way for Lower Lake and James Clark had 10.
Clear Lake 73, Fort Bragg 26
At Fort Bragg, Clear Lake opened the second half of its league schedule in impressive fashion by blowing out the Fort Bragg Timberwolves.
Clear Lake is now 8-0 in the NCL I and 19-1 overall, the best record of any team — JV or varsity — in Lake County.
David Mansell”s 16 points paced the Cardinals, who shoot for their 20th victory tonight at home against Cloverdale at 5:30 p.m.

At Middletown, Kayla Meadows and Allison Lahr scored 11 points apiece as the Lower Lake Trojans beat Middletown in NCL I action.
