WALNUT GROVE — Congressman John Garamendi (D-Walnut Grove), the incumbent candidate for California”s new 3rd Congressional District, announced today that his campaign raised $276,726 during the last quarter of 2011, with $313,179 cash on hand.
“Our strong fundraising this last quarter is a reflection of the hard work we are doing to earn the honor of representing such wonderful communities, and the support we are receiving,” Garamendi said.
Garamendi and volunteers has been canvassing the new 3rd Congressional District, which includes the northeastern portion of Lake County, for several weeks with a very positive response. “Our grassroots campaign has already recruited dozens of volunteers and knocked on hundreds of doors throughout the new 3rd District, from Colusa to Fairfield, from Davis to Yuba City,” Garamendi said.
Garamendi added, “I expect I”ll wear out two sets of tires and need another pair of shoes, but we”re going to make sure that by the end of this campaign, voters in the 3rd Congressional District know that I”m in Congress fighting for the issues that matter to this region: good American jobs, a commitment to education, flood protection, water supply, agriculture, Beale and Travis Air Force bases, and the restoration of the American dream.”
