As a preschool instructor for the past 26 years, I am so proud I have had the pleasure of teaching more than 300 students in Lake County.
Seeing first hand the importance an early preschool education can make, I have given these young students a structured, academic, loving and value-based education, starting them on their way to becoming top performing students.
It has truly been evident over the years, hearing the progress reports from parents and seeing the honor roll rosters printed each year.
Congratulations to 14 of my former alumni who made the Clear Lake High School honor roll with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. There is no greater reward!
Each year more pressure is put upon the preschool instructors to meet Kindergarten entry level academic requirements in both reading and mathematics.
When I was in school, we got our first reader “Fun With Dick and Jane” in the second grade. Now the reading program begins just two to three months into the Kindergarten school year. That is why preschool is so important.
If you are unsure about a preschool experience for your child, look at the benefits your child will gain and what a wonderful and rewarding experience they will receive. This will more than set the stage for a life of academic excellence.
