It is simply intolerable that Lake County has the highest euthanasia rate of cats in the entire state of California. It must stop now. I offer an idea to get things under control immediately: They should feature a day that all dogs and cats will be free to responsible people with identification, proof of income and a safe home. The adopting party should pay only for animal”s first shots and be given a half-price voucher for neuter/spay. This will save many lives, save the county money and make a lot of people and animals very happy. As it is there are few people who can afford to come to this facility to rescue an animal.
