LAKE COUNTY — A Lakeport woman suffered minor to moderate injuries Thursday when the motorcycle she and her husband were riding on skidded out of control. According to Officer Matt Norton with the California Highway Patrol, the husband was driving the motorcycle. As he attempted to turn from the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff onto the southbound Highway 29 onramp, the motorcycle lost traction on sand laid on the roadway to prevent black ice. Norton said the motorcycle”s back wheel kicked out, ejecting them. The husband was not injured. The woman was complaining of pain in her left hip. She was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital for treatment. Norton said drugs and alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
