What kind of world do we live in and where has common sense gone? Our members of Congress can receive any number of gifts, cash donations and other favors from persons, companies, corporations and businesses in hopes of favors and legislation in their favor.
Likewise, our Congressmen can provide free tickets and other political benefits to their constituents in hopes of donations to their campaigns.
Yet, I cannot take a box of candy to the clerk”s office as a thank you to the girls for a job well done as this may create “undue influence.”
In our line of work, we are at the filing counter at the County Clerk”s office almost daily in Lakeport and Clearlake.
These women consistently and efficiently wait on all customers with a smile, even when the office is filled with impatient, angry and sometimes downright gnarly folks.
The staff is overworked and understaffed, yet they continue to provide the public with efficient and knowledgeable service and do that with patience and professionalism.
So, we would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank each and every one of you for your teamwork spirit and clear effort to keep the line moving. You girls are great, thank you.
