MIDDLETOWN — A Middletown woman suffered major injuries Wednesday after her pickup truck struck a power pole and tree.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), sole-occupant Wendy Lynn Cordar, 43, was driving her 1990 Ford Ranger westbound on Highway 175 west of Middletown. At Santa Rosa Avenue, Cordar allowed the truck to travel off the roadway onto the north shoulder, crashing head-on into a power pole and Oak tree, according to the CHP.

Cordar sustained major injuries from the collision and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by air ambulance. The CHP said Cordar was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident, which is still under investigation, the CHP said.
