As a Dialysis Facility administrator whose teammates care for nearly 50 patients that rely on quality dialysis care due to kidney failure, I am all too familiar with the issues our patients face, both medically and financially.

The caregiving team at DaVita Clearlake Dialysis was honored to welcome U.S. Representative Mike Thompson to our facility last Thursday.

Dialysis patients and teammates had the opportunity to speak with him about quality dialysis care, insurance coverage issues important to our patients and concerns that patients in rural settings are disadvantaged due to the cost of travel and the amount of travel time involved in getting to and from dialysis.

We want to thank Representative Thompson for championing secure Medicare rates for dialysis in order to maintain a high quality of care for end stage renal disease patients and for visiting our facility to better understand kidney dialysis and hear from the patients who face challenges every day.
