KELSEYVILLE — School district and teachers” union representatives are set for a third mediation session later this month in an effort to settle stalled contract negotiations.

Kelseyville Unified School District (KUSD) Superintendent Dave McQueen and Rico Abordo, of the Kelseyville Unified Teachers Association, confirmed the upcoming meeting date as March 14.

The two sides met with the state mediation service in January and February but didn”t come to a resolution. Contract negotiations reached an impasse in November.

The Feb. 23 session at the KUSD main office started nearly four hours late because the state mediator misremembered the meeting date and time, Abordo said.

On the days of the previous mediation sessions, some Kelseyville teachers parked near the district office displaying posters on their cars.
