LOWER LAKE — The Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) is investigating an early February incident during which a 61-year-old woman was found unconscious in her home, a department spokesman said Wednesday.

Relatives discovered the woman, whose name was not released, unconscious on Feb. 9, according to LCSO Capt. Chris Macedo.

The woman reportedly had several severe injuries and was airlifted to an out-of-county hospital. She has since been released and remains in stable condition while currently recovering from her injuries, Macedo said.

As for how the woman became injured, Macedo said, “Anything is possible at this time. We are continuing to interview the victim to try and ascertain more information.”

The LCSO Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating several leads in the case, he added. Anyone with information can contact the LCSO at 263-2690.
