I really enjoyed Cynthia Parkhill”s column about green transit. Public transit is greener than cars, trucks and SUV”s. It can also more easily be made greener.

One example that should be mentioned is that rail travel is also increasing steadily and rails can be built more easily and cheaply than new highways and airport runways.

And, did Mother Jones” survey mention motorcycles, scooters and motorized bicycles including modern electric versions?

We”re living in the 21st century now, folks. Time to dump the heavy fossil fuel addiction.

If Lake Transit”s route 1 isn”t a lot busier it may be because of generally very loud people, not to mention difficulty getting and deciphering the schedules.

New riders need a user-friendly schedule and convenient stops. And we could use a good boat taxi on the lake.
