WILLITS — The Middletown High School tennis team rolled out a 4-1 victory in its season debut on Tuesday at Willits.

Winners were Jeremy Turner, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) over Jeremy Roberts in second singles; Cody Astley, 6-1, 6-1 over Casey Rogers in third singles; Gerry Espinoza and Oscar Rincon, 6-1, 6-2 over Justin Amador and Juan Rincon in first doubles; and Ariana Diaz and Chris King, 7-6 (7-0) over Marissa Greene and Megan McKinley in second doubles.

Willits won in first singles as Briana Schneider defeated Nika Gibbs 6-1, 6-0.

Middletown also won in exhibition doubles as Gerardo Gonzalez and Carli Fauci beat Tyra Riley and Alex Gamez 6-2.

“We”re pretty young,” Middletown coach Marc Morita said of his 2012 team. “It”s hard to determine who goes where because they”re all pretty even. I think we”re going to be pretty solid.”

Middletown returns to action today in Petaluma against St. Vincent.
