ADAMS SPRINGS — Kelseyville defeated Upper Lake 171-228 in a nine-hole, non-conference golf match on Thursday afternoon at Adams Springs Golf Course on Cobb Mountain.
“It was nice to play on March 8 in shirt sleeves and shorts after the last couple of winters,” Kelseyville coach John Berry said.
Wyatt Ferrell”s round of 35, including one birdie, led Kelseyville in the season opener for both teams. Corey Huber had 37. Also for the Knights, Joe Tannous had a 48 and Max Whitaker 51.
Charles Edmonds fired a 52 to lead the Cougars, under the direction of coach Mike Smith. Jackson Doyle had a 58 and Kyle Karlsson and Leo Saldana finished with rounds of 59.
Kelseyville returns to action Monday in the Hilmar Tournament at Stevinson Ranch. The Knights open their conference schedule Thursday in Calistoga.
