LAKEPORT — A fire broke out at 1125 Armstrong St. in Lakeport Thursday. According to Lakeport Fire District (LFD) Chief Ken Wells, it was first reported at 10:43 a.m. Two engines, one truck and an ambulance from LFD responded as well as one engine and the chief from Kelseyville Fire District. Fire crews cut a hole in the roof to allow the smoke to ventilate. The fire was contained at approximately 11:15 a.m. According to Wells, a neighbor first notified the residents that smoke was emanating from the attic vents, which prompted the 9-1-1 call. Wells said the fire may have escaped from the fireplace flue and spread. No one was injured. The fire caused moderate damage to the home. The residents will be displaced for a few days, Wells said.
