LAKEPORT — Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Narcotics Task Force members arrested a Lakeport man last month for allegedly selling methamphetamine to an undercover detective, concluding an operation that lasted more than a month, an agency spokesman said Friday.
Task force detectives began the operation in late December, focusing their efforts on Noe Reyes Gutierrez, 41, according to LCSO Capt. Chris Macedo.
Macedo alleged Gutierrez traveled to Yuba City and sold an undercover detective approximately one ounce of methamphetamine for $1,300 on Dec. 29.
The captain claimed Gutierrez again sold the detective about an ounce of methamphetamine on Jan. 27, completing that alleged transaction for $1,200 in the Walmart parking lot in Clearlake.
Investigators then conducted surveillance on Gutierrez on Feb. 2, Macedo said.
Macedo alleged Gutierrez met with the undercover detective that day, tried to sell the officer two ounces of methamphetamine and said the drugs would be ready the next day.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant as well as a search warrant for Gutierrez, his home and vehicles, Macedo said.
The LCSO arrested Gutierrez on Feb. 3, according to the department website.
Macedo alleged the detectives served the search warrant and found ammunition, marijuana and a possible glass meth pipe.
Gutierrez remains in custody on $200,000 bail on several counts of transportation or sales of a controlled substance, Macedo said.
