SAN BRUNO — A bases-loaded passed ball with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Lick Wilmerding a 7-6 victory over the Middletown Mustangs on Monday at Skyline College in San Bruno.
Middletown (3-3), which had its three-game winning streak snapped, rallied from a 5-1 deficit after three innings to take a 6-5 lead on Jack Hamilton”s sacrifice fly that capped a two-run top of the sixth. Lick Wilmerding pulled even with an unearned run in the bottom half.
Logan Smith went 3-for-5 with a triple and a RBI for Middletown, including a single in the top of the eighth that put runners at first and second with one out. Blaine Amos went 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI. His two-run triple in the top of the fifth cut Lick Wilmerding”s lead to 5-4. Smith”s RBI triple in the top of sixth knotted the score at 5-5.
