Two cars collided along Highway 29 slightly north of Highland Springs Road Tuesday. According to Officer Kevin Domby with the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:55 a.m. Domby said the driver of a silver Isuzu SUV was heading southbound on Highway 29 toward Highland Springs Road when she saw an ambulance heading northbound on the highway and pulled over to yield. Domby said the driver of a white Dodge pickup did not see the SUV yield. The front left side of the truck struck the rear right side of the SUV, Domby said. Both drivers pulled off the highway onto the shoulder. Domby said the Isuzu driver left the scene to pick someone up and returned a few minutes later, which resulted in an initial report of a hit-and-run. Domby said the driver of the pickup was unlicensed and was cited. No one was injured in the crash. Drugs and alcohol were not considered a factor.
