In Mississippi recently, Mitt Romney greeted the populace with a “good mornin” y”all,” and referred to the grits he was eating. He succeeded only in appearing comical and subject to criticism by the media.

Makes me wonder what if he adapts a Boston accent in New England or swings a lasso in the Western states to show what a good ole boy he can be no matter where he roams.

What we need from a candidate is someone who will be a leader for all of us, not a chameleon who attempts to curry favor by assuming the persona of the moment — risking alienation from the rest of the country.
