BUCKINGHAM — Buckingham Golf and Country Club PGA Director of Golf Mark Wotherspoon and PGA Head Golf Professional Ted Mattila invite all interested players to kick off the 19th season of the Lake County Amateur Golf Circuit with events on Saturday and again on March 24-25.
The first tournament is the One Person Scramble on Saturday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is $65 per person for guests and $50 for Buckingham members. The entry fee includes green fees, lunch and prizes. In addition to the initial event of the 2012 circuit, the 2011 Players of the Year will be honored with a ceremony.
The second event is March 24-25 with the playing of the Lake County Partners Scramble. The first round will be held Saturday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Players will be paired by scores on Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $100 per person for guests and $60 for Buckingham members. The entry fee includes green fees both days, lunch on Sunday as well as prizes.
There are three different flights — championship, net and senior (50 and older) — in most Lake County Amateur events. Players in all flights except championship must have a valid USGA handicap. Anyone interested in participating should drop by or call the pro shot at 279-4863.
