LAKEPORT — LakeCoMoveToAmend will hold its monthly business meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Lagoons Clubhouse, located at 1800 S. Main St. in Lakeport. The public is invited to attend.
The agenda calls for discussion of the initiative process and various events and educational opportunities, banners, props and theater development.
Petitions will be available and there will be training for petition circulators gathering signatures for the county ballot initiative that will give Lake County residents a chance to become educated about corporate personhood and voice their opinion to their legislators.
LakeCoMoveToAmend is an organization of Lake County residents promoting advancement of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would reverse the Citizens United, Supreme Court ruling and establish that corporations are not people and do not possess the inalienable rights of living persons; money does not equal “speech” and is not protected by First Amendment rights against infringement; and money and its influence on government and politics can and must be regulated.
