LAKE COUNTY — Participants of the Adult Respite in Clearlake and Lucerne got into an Irish mood during their garden therapy session led by members of the Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club (CLTTGC) recently.

The garden club comes monthly to the senior groups, bringing garden-related projects and supplies for the participants. March was all about the Irish with green containers and green floral material with shamrocks as the finishing touch.

Jo Jameson, garden club member and chairperson of the garden therapy, plans and collects materials for all the projects with the help of other members. Focus is on participants” enjoyment of each project, social interaction with others in the program and with visual, tactical and aromatic elements coming into play. Each participant takes finished projects home.

Garden club members volunteering for this month”s Irish floral theme were Heide Thomason, Nora Gerrard and Jameson.

Following the floral arranging activity, pianist Audrey Perry played Irish songs.

CLTTGC meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month, except July and August, at Scotts Valley Women”s Club House, 2298 Hendricks Road in Lakeport. For more information, see www.clttgc.org or call President Helen Turley at 262-1721.
