LAKEPORT — A Nice man who pleaded no contest last month to a lone misdemeanor in connection with a gas station stabbing received a three-year sentence Monday morning for another case.
Ronald James Blesio, 35, originally faced six felonies for allegedly stabbing two men at the Lakeport Shell gas station on June 12. He reportedly remained at large until a Lake County Sheriff”s Office sergeant located him during a traffic stop in Kelseyville Oct. 23.
Blesio pleaded no contest to a single lesser count for the incident on Feb. 10, the same day he admitted to violations in two other cases, according to court records.
The most serious charge was a felony for illegally cultivating marijuana last May, a count to which he pleaded no contest, according to court records.
Judge Andrew S. Blum ordered Blesio to serve three years in custody for the drug conviction during a sentencing hearing Monday morning at the Lake County Courthouse.
The judge denied probation in that case and said Blesio must pay more than $1,000 in fines and fees. Blesio received 306 days of aggregate credit for time previously served.
Blum sentenced Blesio to concurrently serve 90 days in jail for a misdemeanor battery conviction in a separate case related to an April incident. Blesio also pleaded no contest to that charge Feb. 10, according to court records.
Court records indicated Blesio received a 90-day sentence in February for misdemeanor assault stemming from the June stabbing incident. He got credit in that case for time already served, according to defense attorney Doug Rhoades.
