LAKE COUNTY — Hallie Sullivan, a junior enrolled at the Lewis Independent Study program in the Konocti Unified School District (KUSD), has once again used her artistic talents to create an engaging poster.

Last year Sullivan won the contest to design the poster for the Old Time Bluegrass Festival. This spring she designed the poster for the Children”s Museum of Art and Science (CMAS) fundraiser at the Moore Family Winery set to take place from 4 to 7 p.m. April 21.

The theme for this event is “Swing Into Spring” and Sullivan produced a depiction of a girl playing a saxophone while sitting in a swing beneath a tree in full bloom. Sullivan said the notes coming out of the saxophone are the actual notes of the song “In the Good Old Summertime.”

Sullivan is currently working with a Lake County writer doing illustrations for a children”s book. Sullivan said she hopes to attend Santa Rosa Junior College after graduation and pursue a career in art. She is interested in all aspects of commercial and fine arts. She seeks experience in design and layout and can be contacted at lemonsnlove@yahoo.com or by phone at 994-5580.

CMAS will use the proceeds from the fundraiser to support its sixth annual art and science day camp, this year to be held on May 5 at the Ely Stage Stop and the Taylor Observatory. Funds will also be used to further develop the Lego robot program that is being piloted in KUSD.

Tickets for the fundraiser cost $15 and include a glass of wine and hors d”oeuvres created and served by the Yuba College Culinary Program. Music will be provided by From the Heart, a Cobb couple, Saro and Reikor Deacon.

A raffle featuring prizes donated by Lake County businesses will also be held throughout the evening. Tickets are available at The Travel Center in Lakeport, Mountain High Coffee in Cobb and Hidden Valley Lake and at Marie”s Feed in Clearlake. Tickets can also be obtained by calling 994-2878.
