Congressman Mike Thompson and fellow Democrats seem quick to criticize the new budget plan offered by Paul Ryan.
Following their talking points, I hear the same dire warnings. He states the plan provides tax breaks for the wealthy at the expense of seniors and the middle-class. He goes on to warn how Medicare and retirement security will all but disappear over time. I think this is nonsense and is a disingenuous attempt to alarm seniors.
After three years of no budget by the Democrats we are closing in on $16 trillion of debt. Something has to be done and the Ryan budget plan is a good first step. Where is the Democratic party budget plan? The answer is simple, they don”t have one.
Senate Majority leader Harry Reid says we don”t need one and refuses to even entertain a vote on the Ryan Budget.
Can you run your house or business without a budget? No way.
Can you continually spend more than you take in?Of course not. Our great country is being threatened from within by a far greater foe than those who seek to harm us.
It is called the national debt and if left unchecked will ruin us. Paul Ryan is courageous for taking a stand and meeting the difficult challenge head on. He has been honest and straight forward, something this current administration could learn much from.
