LAKEPORT — The Middletown Mustangs bounced back from a tough 3-2 loss to Kelseyville earlier in the week with a 4-1 victory over the Clear Lake Cardinals on Friday in Lakeport.
Middletown”s only loss came in No. 2 singles where Clear Lake”s Kenny Henninger beat Gerry Espinoza 6-3, 6-4.
In other matches, Cody Astley defeated Raul Rendon 6-0, 6-3 in first singles; Jeremy Turner beat Tamara Rojas 6-2, 6-2 in third singles; Nika Gibbs and Oscar Rincon defeated Nathan Harper and Brian Gatton 6-0, 6-1 in first doubles; and Chris King and Arianna Turner beat Serena Kacharos and Faith Hornby 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 8-6 (tiebreaker played instead of official third set) in second doubles.
In exhibition doubles action, Clear Lake”s Mike Reynolds and Nick Dudley rallied past Carli Fauci and Gerardo Gonzalez 4-6, 6-0, 6-1.
