Clearlake needs code enforcement. If my street is any example of what is happening in our city we are in big trouble.

We have vacant homes with boarded windows and trash flowing out into the yards. We have blue tarps for roofs that have been in place for years. A non-functioning trailer overflowing with trash has been parked on the street for more than five years and another home has a garage full of trash. One property has a fallen tree covering the front yard and property. This tree fell last summer. Vacant lots are strewn with trash and fallen mailboxes.

Many of us maintain our properties and pick up trash along the road.

Many do not.

I like living in Clearlake and appreciate our good and responsible citizens. Clearlake does not deserve to be called the armpit of Lake County and without an effective Code Enforcement, this name will stick.
