CLEARLAKE OAKS — Northshore Fire Protection District (NFPD) had about a 45-minute containment time on a structure fire Wednesday night in the Keys area of Clearlake Oaks. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
According to Steve Hart, who is a chief officer with NFPD, the $200,000-home suffered about $100,000 in damage. Cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in relation to an electric heater. Hart said he would like to remind residents to be sure to keep combustible materials away from all heating sources.
Units were requested at 9:15 p.m. for a structure fire in a two-story, single family dwelling on the 13000 block of Flying Jib Court in Clearlake Oaks. Upon arrival, firefighters found the A-frame structure well-involved. Hart said firefighters were able to protect the adjacent structures from catching fire; however, one adjacent home suffered a broken window.
NFPD responded with four engines, one medical unit, two support units, three chief officers and 25 personnel. Lake County Fire Protection District provided mutual, responding with an engine.
Hart said units cleared the scene at about 12:30 a.m.
