UKIAH — Kelseyville High School finished ninth out of 13 teams on Monday during the 26th annual Ukiah Invitational golf tournament at Ukiah Municipal Golf Course.
The Knights, who were without one of their top players (Wyatt Ferrell is on vacation in Hawaii), finished with a team score of 540. Montgomery High School of Santa Rosa came in first with 374, Maria Carrillo (Santa Rosa) and Casa Grande (Petaluma) tied for second with 413, and Ukiah was fourth at 429.
Corey Huber led Kelseyville with a round of 86 on the par-72 layout, which is still saturated from last month”s heavy rainfall, according to Berry.
“There was no bounce at all in the fairways,” said Berry, who added that winter rules were in effect.
Joe Tannous, who carded a 99, was the only other Kelseyville player to break 100.
Montgomery”s Nick Rogers and Cardinal Newman”s Frankie Euphrat tied for the low round of the day at 4-over-par 72.
Kelseyville returns to action April 18 in a conference match at Hidden Valley Lake.
